Laura Bonner was inspired to set up the Muff Liquor Company by her grandfather, who distilled poitín in his barn.

The company, based in Inishowen, Co Donegal, produces premium distilled spirits using potato rather than grain as a base. Bonner launched her first product, Muff Irish Potato Craft Gin, in February last year, priced at €43.95 for a 700ml bottle. Muff Irish Potato Vodka hit the market last November costing €42.95.
