Energia tells investors that lockdowns won’t hit electricity demand further
The utility reports a rise in earnings for the six months to the end of September, benefiting from increased output from power stations in north Dublin
Energia, the second-largest energy provider in the country, has said it does not anticipate a further drop in demand for electricity as a result of Covid-19 imposed lockdowns.
Energia told its bond investors earlier this month that energy demand across the island dropped by about 7.5 per cent this year as workers stayed at home in the Republic and the North, reducing usage in non-essential buildings and workplaces.
