Yeats’s night at the theatre leads Bonham’s sale

Romeo and Juliet by Jack B Yeats#

A prize for the Irish collector in London next month is Jack B Yeats’s Romeo and Juliet (The Last Act), painted in 1927, 45.8 x 61.2cm, estimated to fetch £80,000-£120,000. The scene is from Gounod’s 1867 opera, based on Shakespeare’s play and performed at Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre in 1926.
