Room to expand as hotel sales rise

International investors are eager for a slice of the Irish hospitality pie and room capacity is due to increase by 27 per cent over the next two years - but there are some warnings over occupancy levels

Up to €800 million worth of hotels could change hands in 2018. While this is below the record levels, it would still prove a strong year and put it well ahead of the €600 million in deals transacted last year, according to Tom Barrett of Savills’ Irish hotel and leisure division.
