We have lots of different ways of counting new homes, and not one of them works

If I said: “Here’s how you count: one, two, five, twenty-three, potato”, you’d be forgiven for thinking I had lost my mind. Everybody knows you can’t just make up the rules of mathematics.

That is generally true, except for when you learn to count new Irish homes, because when doing that it would seem you can use whatever rules you make up as you go.
