What is true love? According to Marlene Dietrich, in her book Marlene Dietrich’s ABC: “It’s a flower: Trillium erectum.” She is, of course, referring to the North American woodland plant with deep red flowers also known as wake robin, Indian shamrock or American true love. However, many other plants also have associations with love, apart from the ever-popular red rose.
