Houses in the Dublin commuter belt, as well as investment properties, were among the best sellers at Allsop’s second online Irish residential auction last week.

A total of 51 out of the 64 lots generated €6.5 million in sales. Allsop’s director of Irish auctions, Robert Hoban, reported an 80 per cent success rate and increased interest in online auctions.

Bidders from New York, Australia and Liverpool were outbid by a Galway investor in a record-breaking 169-bid battle...
