At Whyte’s History and Literature sale on May 9, bidders from 19 countries resulted in total revenue of €220,000 with 80 per cent sold. After a five-minute battle, the harp gifted to Maud Gonne by WB Yeats, estimate €10,000 - €15,000, sold to a Donegal collector for €37,000. The 1880 Irish National League marching banner went to a Chicago collector for €8,000 (€8,000 - €10,000). Bulmer Hobson’s 1922 copy of Ulysses fetched €5,500 (€2,000 - €3,000) and a member of the family of Father Gleeson bought the print of his The Last Absolution of the Munsters at Rue du Bois in 1915 for €4,000 (€2,000 - €3,000). Jacqueline Kennedy’s 1960 maternity dress made €3,600 (€3,500 - €4,000).
