Committee on foreign affairs will decide next week whether it will ask the New York-based former TD to attend for questioning
Katherine Zappone could soon be asked to break her silence for the first time since the release of text messages relating to her controversial appointment as UN special envoy by the Irish government.
John Brady, a Sinn Féin TD and member of the Oireachtas committee on foreign affairs, has asked that the committee invite Zappone for a hearing to discuss the details of how she was offered a job as LGBT envoy in July.
