Varadkar vows to raise top tax band to €50,000

From January, workers will enter the 40 per cent rate of income tax when their salary hits €35,300. But Varadkar told delegates his party would go further in the coming years, if given the opportunity to do so

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has promised to increase the point at which a person pays the top rate of tax to €50,000 over the next five budgets if re-elected.
