Updated cost of new children’s hospital still ‘confidential’
Department of Health refuses to disclose costs associated with the project to Public Accounts Committee despite speculation that price could reach €2bn
The Department of Health has said it is still not in a position to disclose updated costs for the National Children’s Hospital, despite repeated requests for the figures from the Dáil’s spending watchdog.
In a letter to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), an official at the department said the costs associated with the project are subject to a live contract, and therefore “must remain confidential”.
