Minister for Communications Denis Naughten has said the taxpayer will still get the best value for the national broadband contract despite the pullout of a key bidder.

He was speaking after it emerged that the national broadband contract is now a two-horse race. Eir and a consortium led by Enet submitted bids by today's deadline. SIRO, which wasthe joint venture between ESB and Vodafone, has pulled out.
