Time for some more joined-up thinking in transport policy

The construction of two separate Luas lines that did not link up together – or indeed to any other rail service - was one of the most stupid transport policy decisions in recent memory

Joining the two Luas lines has always been a pet project of Taoiseach Leo Varadkar. He gave the go-ahead for the link-up between the Red and Green Luas lines when he was Minister for Transport. His satisfaction at being able to be on the tram for the official opening is very visible here.
