TDs fail in attempt to oust expenses auditing firm

A group of TDs have failed in their attempt to get rid of a private firm which was carrying out independent checks on their Dáil expenses.

As part of the auditing process, accountancy firm Mazars carried out visits to some TDs’ constituency offices to inspect their receipts. Its auditors also made weekly telephone calls to TDs if they were not getting responses to their questions about expenses.
