Tax cuts worth €300m for lower and middle incomes expected in budget

A tax cuts package of around €300 million is expected in the budget for lower and middle-income earners through a combination of USC cuts and increases in the standard tax rate band.

Negotiations are continuing between Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil ahead of the budget on October 9 about how much can be afforded in tax cuts in the face of Britain’s potentially destabilising exit from the EU next March.
