Tánaiste Micheál Martin has thrown his support behind the concept of a European supergrid, saying he has told his European counterparts that it is the “only way to go”.

Martin was speaking at the launch of a new book on building a pan-European super electricity grid, written by Eddie O’Connor, the businessman who founded Airtricity, and Kevin O’Sullivan, environment editor of the Irish Times, in Trinity College Dublin.
