A new government quango is planning to save €15 million per year by issuing all state invoices through a single system.

Currently, some 600,000 invoices are sent out annually by 48 state bodies using 31 different financial systems.

But the National Shared Services Office (NSSO) is planning to process and pay all the invoices through one centralised financial management service next year.
