Bruton: help for plug-ins will be limited in future to encourage move to fully electric vehicles

State grants for plug-in hybrid cars will be significantly limited in the coming years to get motorists to switch to fully electric cars instead, Minister for Climate Action Richard Bruton has said.

Purchasers of electric cars and plug-in hybrids can currently claim grants of up to €5,000 towards the purchase of their car.
