State to pay for abortion surgery if ban scrapped
At present, fewer than 30 abortions per year are carried out in Ireland under the provisions of the Protection of Life during Pregnancy Act
The state will cover the cost of providing surgical terminations to women if the Eighth Amendment is repealed next year and Ireland’s abortion laws are liberalised.
