The state’s auditor has described the lack of oversight over the amounts being charged in legal and professional fees by the special liquidators of the former Anglo Irish Bank as “unusual”.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is to investigate the fees being charged by KPMG to oversee the liquidation of IBRC, the bank established to wind down the defunct Anglo Irish Bank and Irish Nationwide.
