Siptu to donate money to non-Labour candidates
Union decided its €100,000 fund can go other left wing parties
Siptu is going to break with its tradition of only giving election donations to the Labour Party by broadening its donations out to other left-wing candidates.
The country’s largest trade union has decided that its political fund of around €100,000 can be used for donations to candidates from other left wing parties, as long as they are Siptu members and sign up to a policy pledge.
