Minister sidesteps Fianna Fáil to get policies over the line
Minister for Transport Shane Ross’s proposals to have a lay majority and a lay chair on the new judicial appointments commission have been backed by Sinn Féin.
In a major boost for the Independent Alliance TD, the Judicial Appointments Commission Bill that he agreed with Tánaiste and Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald is now likely to be passed when it comes before the Dáil in the coming weeks.
