Registration delay keeps over 1,300 nurses from working
NMBI said it cannot progress 1,313 applications “due to outstanding documentation”
Over 1,000 nurses and midwives are waiting to be registered because of a backlog in the nurses’ regulatory body that has left them unable to work.
In response to a parliamentary question, the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) said it cannot progress 1,313 applications “due to outstanding documentation”.
The regulatory body said that in order for it to reach a decision, it must receive all required documents.
