Ousted FG official Walsh asked colleague to withdraw complaint

Fine Gael’s Barry Walsh asked a former election candidate to withdraw her complaints against him, claiming they had caused him difficulty and embarrassment in work and affected his position in the party.

Walsh was forced to resign from Fine Gael’s national executive last week after the disclosure of a number of abusive tweets in which he repeatedly used the word ‘bitch’ to describe certain named women.
