Minister for Public Expenditure Paschal Donohoe has insisted the new public sector pay report will not be an ATM for public servants.

Donohoe made the remarks after the Public Sector Pay Commission found that there was a case for a new pay deal.

However, it also said pensions for public sector workers hired before 2013 were 12 to 18 per cent more valuable than private sector pensions.

Donohoesaid the new report was different to the benchmarking process, which former Senator Joe O'Toole described as an ATM for public servants.
