New EU law to boost spending on health
New EU laws will bolster the Department of Health’s case in negotiating an increased budget from the Department of Public Expenditure, Minister for Health Leo Varadkar has said.
Varadkar believes that the new cross border healthcare directive, which was fully transposed into Irish law in February, has the potential to change the dynamic in favour of spending more money on health in future in Ireland.
