Nearly half of Dublin Airport security staff hires have left

DAA claims retention rates are in line with market trends, but union blames low pay for high-stress jobs

Almost 100 security guards hired over the past year by the operator of Dublin Airport have already left their roles, the Business Post has learned.

Some 97 of the 208 staff recruited for the airport’s security unit in the past 12 months have left. The DAA, which runs the airport, is finding it difficult to retain new security staff on annual salaries of around €32,000 to €45,000 because they have decided to take up less ...
