Varadkar's decision not to carry out a cabinet reshuffle ahead of October's Brexit departure date has caused frustration for ministers hoping for a promotion

Brexit has been very bad for the careers of many British ministers, who have been dropped, axed and chopped during the last three years.

But it has been very good for the current cabinet, who would otherwise have faced the risk of losing their jobs.

Varadkar has said that he does not want to make changes to his ministerial line-up heading into the Budget on October 8 and the Brexit departure date on October 31.
