Minister Halligan: ‘I can’t see how Garda Commissioner can keep going’

The Independent Alliance will consider this week whether it can continue to support the Garda Commissioner Noirin O’Sullivan amid ongoing controversies in the force.

Alliance minister John Halligan said that the Gardaí were “lurching from one chaos to another”, and that he and his colleagues will meet this week to decide whether they can still support the embattled commissioner.

Halligan is the first government minister to publicly question the future of O’Sullivan.
