British Prime Minister Theresa May has suffered a crushing defeat in a vote in the House of Commons on the Brexit withdrawal deal she negotiated with the EU.
The motion on the agreement was defeated by more than 200 votes – 432 to 202. May now faces a debate on a motion of no-confidence put down by Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, who described the government’s defeat as “catastrophic”.
