A key task the Public Sector Pay Commission was to answer one key question - what is the gap in pay between public and private sector workers?

To do this, it looked at a range of studies and also examined the pay rates of other public servants in EU countries.

The findings in its report published yesterday(pg 49 -Table 5.3: Ratio of Average Annual Earnings, 2014) were quite interesting.
