Many FGers were less than pleased. Their whole electoral strategy is designed to make Fianna Fáil irrelevant, and here’s Simon talking FF up as fine fellows indeed. Last Post spies suggest Simon’s alarm was initially that Labour would be offended (they were), so he texted all the Labour ministers to apologise. But, alas, he didn’t text the Fine Gael ministers, some of whom were mightily disgruntled. Oh well.
