Lack of funding stunts growth in food sector
400 new food companies in the last four years on Bord Bia's books
Difficulties accessing funding are preventing Irish food companies from becoming “the next Glanbia, Kerry or Greencore”, according to agriculture minister Simon Coveney.
There are currently more than 750 food companies on Bord Bia’s books, up from 350 four years ago. But Coveney said not many Irish food companies had gone from medium to big in the last ten years.
