Kill Bill: Government hammers final nail into the climate change bill

The refusal of a ‘money message’ has killed off People Before Profit's Climate Emergency Measures Bill. Now there are calls for a judicial review of the decision

People Before Profit’s Climate Emergency Measures Bill was effectively killed by the government last week. It decided the bill could not proceed as it would result in an excessive burden on the public finances. But Bríd Smith, the People Before Profit TD, has told The Sunday Business Post that she is seeking a judicial review of what she believes is an incorrect decision resulting from a legally flawed and fundamentally undemocratic process....
