Kenny signals interest in becoming European Commission president

Former taoiseach would face off against Barnier and other senior EU politicians for EPP backing

Former taoiseach Enda Kenny has signalled an interest in running for the job of European Commission president next year, The Sunday Business Post has learned.

Kenny, who resigned as taoiseach last year, has expressed an interest in the role and inquired about the practicalities of securing the nomination of the European People’s Party (EPP).
