This time two years ago, Enda Kenny’s fate as taoiseach had been sealed after he was forced to admit making up a conversation that never happened with another cabinet minister. So controversial was that tumultuous period that it will be the subject of a book coming out this summer called Enda the Road: Nine Days that Toppled a Taoiseach.
