New Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has spent the last seven weeks “galloping at a furious pace”. After taking over as leader from Gerry Adams, she was instantly thrust into two weeks of ultimately fruitless talks on restoring power-sharing. Then she was off to Brussels to visit Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier and then to the US for Sinn Féin’s annual St Patrick’s Day fundraisers.
