Fianna Fáil’s muted reaction to the Budget indicates the party is more than happy with what it’s managed to achieve in talks with Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe over recent weeks.
As the Dáil chamber emptied once Donohoe finished 21-page speech and sat down, Fianna Fáil’s two finance spokespersons Michael McGrath and Dara Calleary delivered lengthy and low-key speeches which essentially amounted to a line-by-line assessment of each measure announced today.
