Half of voters want Higgins to keep promise of serving just one term

But President appears likely to break his own pledge and run again

Almost half of voters believe that President Michael D Higgins should honour his pre-election promise to serve only one seven-year term.

The latest Sunday Business Post/Red C poll comes amid growing suggestions that Higgins is preparing to go for a second term, which could see him remain in Áras an Uachtaráin until 2025.
