The former chief executive of RSA Insurance’s Irish division is to claim that some of the group’s senior management were aware of potential issues with the company’s claims reserves.

Philip Smith resigned as chief executive of RSA in November 2013 not long after he and two executives were suspended by the company as part of an investigation into how the insurer accounted for compensation claims and what reserves it held.
