The latest poll is a worrying sign for Fine Gael heading into the local elections, because it has held the upper hand in Dublin over other parties in recent times

Fine Gael knows that some of its younger, more liberal support is in Dublin. But the latest Sunday Business Post Red C/Poll suggests that some of that support has suddenly switched to the Green Party.

That is being attributed to the fact that this is the first time that climate change is a real election issue, as opposed to one that people think should be an issue. That isgood ground to fight on for the Green Party, which has been banging on about it for decades. But not for Fine Gael, the party in government which is being accused of presiding over Ireland as a climate laggard.
