Fianna Fáil TDs have hit out at social media users for their hurtful comments about former taoiseach Brian Cowen following his admission to hospital in recent days.
The online attacks drew an angry response from Fianna Fáilers and friends of Cowen, who were rallying around his family as he was being treated in the Beacon Hospital in Dublin for a suspected bleed on the brain.
