FG’s hardcore stays loyal despite homelessness and health scandals

Despite its unimpressive response to the crises in both sectors, Fine Gael is still able to count on the support of roughly three in ten voters

It is now nearly two years since the Fine Gael-led minority government dropped its previous deadline for getting all families out of emergency hotel accommodation.

The overriding aim since then has been to at least keep the number of homeless people under 10,000 people, but even that target was missed last week, with 10,264 people designated as officially homeless.
