FF’s Calleary braces supporters for FG attacks after local elections wins

Deputy leader says he wants to motivate the party faithful by raising the Fine Gael threat and keeping the opposition ‘on their toes’

Fianna Fáil deputy leader Dara Calleary has warned party supporters that Fine Gael is going to “come after them” after its successful local elections result.

While Fine Gael had set a target of becoming the biggest party in local government, it was Fianna Fáil who retained that position with 279 council seats compared with 255 for Fine Gael.
