FG-led minority government will be unable to pass a budget without support

Fianna Fáil will block Fine Gael’s plans to remove tax credits from high-and middle-income earners in the budget this October.

In a sign of the difficulty that the government will encounter in compiling its first budget, Fianna Fáil said abolishing tax credits for high earners would further complicate the tax system and could be unworkable.
