Senior Fianna Fáil TDs have dismissed Taoiseach Leo Varadkar’s proposal to begin talks on renewing the confidence and supply deal before October’s budget, increasing the possibility of a snap election this summer.

Fianna Fáil is also demanding the government increase rent subsidies, introduce incentives for landlords and set out a plan to equalise pay for new teachers and other public sector workers in the budget.
