Ex-Revenue boss warns property tax could fail without reforms

Former Revenue chair Josephine Feehily has warned that the current property tax could be abolished if the government does not reform it properly.

She said that if revenue continued to diminish as a proportion of overall tax revenue, there could be questions raised about the value of collecting it. She described the property tax as a “conditional success” because it had been frozen at the same level for the past five years.
