EU workers get €6,400 for non-resident families

Around 600 EU workers are each getting over €6,000 per year in ‘working family payments’ even though their families are not living here.

Under EU rules, child benefit has to be paid to all EU workers even if their children are living abroad.

It has now emerged that EU workers are also entitled to a top-up payment for low-income families if their children are not here.
