Some 15 years after he took on the leadership of the party, Enda Kenny stood down as leader of Fine Gael last week. He has achieved some significant records during that time, including leading Fine Gael close to a majority in the 2011 election, and also being the longest-serving Fine Gael taoiseach in history.

No one can question these achievements, but the public has never really warmed to him in the same way ...
