Fianna Fáil’s Éamon Ó Cuív topped the poll in Galway West, increasing his vote from 2011 by over 2,000 to hold onto his seat.

His vote of 9,539 was not enough to get him elected on the first count with a quota of 10,712 in the constituency.

And independent Noel Grealish, formerly of the PDs, also looked set to hold his seat after polling 7,187, an increase of several hundred from five years ...
